I taught on this story again last Sunday, and every time I do it gets to me. It’s just so mysterious and rich in meaning. It doesn’t fit in a neat little theological package–kind of like God, Himself, doesn’t fit into a neat little theological package. You don’t often see it taught in second grade Sunday school, for good reason.
This is video is an attempt to capture a little of the emotional complexity of the story.
(Sorry about the Papyrus font for the title…I made this video a couple years ago when it was still cool and James Cameron hadn’t subtitled an entire epic motion picture with it.)
